Grill, fry, roast, bake and steam all in one pan with Nea and Durane Magic Pans, a fantastic alternative to a traditional electric griddle. Its fantastic non-stick surface transfers heat evenly.

In today's blog, we would like to share a few useful tips on how to take care of your magic pans that will help you preserve their non-stick coating for longer.

    1. Before first use

Remove the clip from the hinge at the back of the pan. Separate the pans, check that the gasket is securely fitted then wash both pans with warm soapy water to remove factory dust.

    2. Seasoning

The non-stick coating of the Magic Pan does not require seasoning however, after a while you may wish to refresh it, especially if using the dishwasher on a regular basis. Ensure the pans are clean and dry. Using a soft paper towel or a brush lightly coat the cooking surface with a little vegetable oil.

    3. Cooking

To pre-heat, ensure that the magic pan has been moistened using a paper towel with a little bit of vegetable oil. Close the pans and place them in a gas cooker, as Nea and Durane magic pans are suitable for gas hobs only. Always cook on low to medium heat and use silicone, wooden, or plastic utensils to avoid scratching the surface. Do not leave an empty pan on high heat. The heat inside the pan will produce some steam and moisture which will escape from the vent on the back of the pan therefore always use only a small amount of additional liquids or oils. Before flipping the pan open it and drain any excess liquids or oils. Ensure that the pan is securely closed before turning it.

    4. Cleaning

Always use a soft sponge or non-abrasive dishcloth. Dry immediately with a soft, lint-free cloth or paper towel. Do not use steel wool, metal harsh scourers or abrasive detergents to avoid damage to the non-stick coating. To remove stuck-on residue on the collector at the back of the pan and hinges use a small dishwashing brush.

    5. Care

Never cut food with a knife inside the pan to prevent ruining the non-stick surface. Only use silicone, wooden, or heat-resistant plastic utensils. Immediately after cooking place the pan on a heat-proof surface and let it completely cool down. Never pour cold water on the hot pan to cool it down. Once cool, separate the pans and wash them with warm soapy water. Burnt-on food can be softened by pouring hot water into each pan and leaving it to soak for about an hour. Rinse well and dry immediately before storing.

    6. Storage

Ensure your Magic pan is clean before storing it. When stacking use pan protectors or paper napkins between pans, to avoid scratching the coating.

    7. Caution

Take care not to place the handle over the direct heat or naked flame and ensure that it's always turned away from the edge of the stove, safe from the child's reach. To prevent overbalancing, always place the pan centrally on the trivet.

    8. Gasket replacement

Remove the old gasket and clean the groove in the rim of the pan with a small brush. Dry thoroughly before inserting a new gasket. Never stretch the gasket to prevent it from changing its shape. Do not use the Magic Pan without the correctly fitted gasket.
