    Shepherd's Pie is a hearty and comforting dish that's perfect for a cosy night in. It's made with ground lamb, vegetables, and a creamy mashed potato topping. This recipe is easy to follow and can be customized to your liking.


    Ingredients :


    • 1 tbsp Olive oil

    • 1 Onion

    • 2 Carrots

    • 2 Celery sticks

    • 500g Lamb mince

    • 1 tbsp Flour (or cornflour for gluten-free)

    • 1 tsp Dried thyme

    • 1 tsp Dried sage

    • 500ml Beef stock

    • 2 tbsp Tomato puree

    • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

    • Salt and pepper

    • 1kg Potatoes

    • 2 tbsp Butter

    Preparation Method :

    Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).


    Heat the olive oil in a large pan. Add the ground lamb and cook until browned.


    Add the chopped vegetables and cook until softened.


    Stir in the flour (or cornflour) and herbs. Cook for a few minutes.


    Pour in the beef stock, tomato puree, and Worcestershire sauce. Season with salt and pepper.


    Simmer for 30 minutes.


    While the lamb mixture simmers, boil the potatoes until tender.


    Mash the potatoes with butter, salt, and pepper.


    Spread the lamb mixture in an ovenproof dish. Top with the mashed potato.


    Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the mashed potato is golden brown.


    Tips :

    • For a richer flavour, use bone broth instead of beef stock.
    • Add a sprinkle of cheese to the mashed potato for extra flavor.
    • This recipe can be made ahead of time and frozen.
